Who builds Kerah, and the rules it follows
Kerah is a household food-safety and wellness app made by Kerah - F.Z.E., a Free Zone Establishment registered in Ajman Free Zone, United Arab Emirates. It is built Arabic-first for households in the Gulf, and used in 23 languages.
We fail closed on food safety
When the scanner cannot resolve an ingredient, it warns — it never returns "safe". This makes the app less impressive in a demo and more trustworthy in a kitchen. We will not trade that for a cleaner-looking result.
We do not give medical advice
Kerah supports wellness, nutrition and household organisation. It does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or replace a doctor, dietitian or veterinarian. Where a feature edges toward health guidance, it says so.
No diet-culture mechanics
No shaming, no punishing streaks, no pressure to log everything. Children never see calorie or macro numbers. We do not optimise for time spent in the app.
Privacy by design
Children are managed by a parent or guardian and never hold their own account. Health-related data is optional, visible only to the household members you authorise, and deletable from inside the app. We do not sell data.
Arabic is not a translation layer
The app is designed right-to-left, with Arabic typography, Gulf food terminology, halal awareness and Ramadan-aware timing built in — not added afterwards.
