Roughly 87% of barcodes scanned in the GCC are not in the global open food databases. When a barcode is unknown, Kerah offers to read the ingredients panel from a photo instead, so the check still happens.

Can Kerah guarantee a product is halal?

No, and it does not claim to. Certification depends on sourcing and processing that an ingredient list does not show. Kerah flags what the label reveals and tells you when it cannot be sure — always read the packaging and follow your own certification authority.

Yes. Once halal is on for a profile it applies to meal plans, recipe suggestions, swap options and grocery lists, so non-halal items are filtered before you ever see them.
